As you travel, your expert host will share powerful insights into Paul’s Second Missionary Journey and the pivotal Macedonian Call.

Modeled after its namesake in Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul), Hagia Sophia boasts a majestic dome, stunning mosaics, and a spiritual atmosphere that evokes centuries of Christian devotion.

Day 5 – June 28: Berea & Vergina – The Bereans

From Scripture to Ancient Kingdoms – A Journey Through Time
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart from Thessaloniki by bus to the beautiful city of Veria (biblical Berea) in northwestern Greece. Travel along a modern road that overlays the ancient Via Egnatia, where remnants of the original Roman stones can still be seen.

📖 Synagogue of Berea – Search the Scriptures
As you enter the city, imagine Paul and Silas walking these same paths. Enjoy a guided stroll through Barbouta, Veria’s historic Jewish quarter—continuously inhabited since the 1st century AD. Visit a restored synagogue, the very place where the noble Bereans were praised in Acts 17:11 for searching the Scriptures daily to verify the teaching of the Apostle Paul. Learn about the annotated scroll that connects that place to early Christian and Jewish history. The walking tour begins and ends at the Monument (Bema) of the Apostle Paul, commemorating his preaching to the noble Bereans.

🏛️ Continue to Vergina (Ancient Aigai)
Next, travel to Vergina, the first capital of the ancient Macedonian Kingdom. Explore the awe-inspiring Royal Tombs of Philip II (father of Alexander the Great) and Alexander IV (son of Alexander the Great). Marvel at centuries-old gold artifacts and uncover the symbolism of Daniel 8:5, connecting prophecy with the rise of Alexander the Great.

Along the way, pass by Pydna, the site of the 168 BC battle that marked the fall of the Greek Empire and the rise of Roman dominance—fulfilling Daniel 7:6,12. Your host will explain the prophetic significance of this historic clash.

Evening in Kalambaka
Arrive in Kalambaka, check into your hotel, and enjoy dinner at the hotel.
End your day with an unforgettable sunset experience at Meteora. From a panoramic viewpoint, take in sweeping views of the Pindos Mountains. As the sun dips behind the peaks, imagine the mythical god Helios guiding his fiery chariot across the sky—an image from Greek mythology that brings ancient stories to life.

Enjoy lunch in Vergina, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Kalambaka.

Day 6 – June 29: Meteora & Thermopylae – The Monastics

From Monasteries in the Sky to the Oracle of Apollo

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and board the bus for a full day of unforgettable spiritual, historical, and cultural exploration.

Meteora – A Monastic Wonder
Begin your day at the awe-inspiring Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site where monasteries are perched atop towering rock pillars, seemingly suspended between heaven and earth. You’ll visit two active monasteries, some of which date back to the 14th century, and learn about the daily lives of the monks and nuns who still live and worship there today.

Prepare to climb stone staircases for breathtaking views and a chance to reflect on the natural and spiritual majesty of the landscape.

⚠️ Dress code required for monastery entry (your host will provide details in advance).

During this visit, we’ll explore the contrast between the monastic path of seclusion to seek God and the apostolic mission of outreach, exemplified by the Apostle Paul.

🛡️ Thermopylae – Courage and Legacy
Continue your journey to Thermopylae, the legendary site of the battle where King Leonidas and 300 Spartans made their heroic stand against the Persian army. Visit the Leonidas Monument and hear about the historical and biblical connections, including the ties to Queen Esther’s story (Esther 1–2) and the Persian Empire.

🏛️ Delphi – Seat of Ancient Prophecy

Exploring Ancient Oracles and Biblical Truth
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin the day at one of the most iconic archaeological sites in Greece—Delphi, nestled on the stunning slopes of Mount Parnassus.

🏛️ Delphi – Seat of Ancient Prophecy
Once considered the “Omphalos” (navel) of the ancient world, Delphi was home to the famed Oracle of Apollo, where the priestess Pythia delivered cryptic prophecies to rulers and generals. As you explore the Temple of Apollo and the surrounding ruins, your guide will contrast the uncertainty of these ancient oracles with the clarity and accuracy of biblical prophecy.
At the Delphi Museum, examine the Gallio Inscription, a powerful archaeological confirmation of the biblical account in Acts 18, which places Gallio as proconsul of Achaia during Paul’s ministry in Corinth.

🏰 Nafpaktos – A Venetian Harbor Town
Next, travel through the historic coastal city of Nafpaktos, a town with roots in antiquity. Its name—derived from the Greek words for “ship” and “to build”—points to its long history as a shipbuilding center. Discover its Venetian-era architecture and harbor fortifications, and enjoy the scenic charm of this seaside stop.

🏖️ Arrive in Corinth – Evening by the Sea
Continue your journey to Corinth, where you’ll check in for an overnight stay at a seaside hotel. Enjoy dinner together and take some time to relax.

🌊 Optional: Take a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean Sea—a perfect way to unwind before continuing your journey through biblical Greece.

Day 8 – July 1: Corinth, Cenchrea & Diolkos – The Corinthians

Walking in the Footsteps of Paul in a City of Commerce and Contrast

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin your journey to ancient Corinth—a thriving twin-harbor city where the Apostle Paul spent 18 months sharing the gospel amid a deeply secular and cosmopolitan culture.

🏟️ Nemea – Ancient Athletics and Paul’s Metaphors
On the way, stop at ancient Nemea to visit its remarkably preserved stadium. Alongside Isthmia, Nemea hosted major athletic games in Paul’s time—believed to have inspired the powerful sports metaphors found in his letters to the Corinthians.

🏛️ Explore Ancient Corinth
Tour the expansive archaeological site and museum of Corinth, where history and Scripture meet:

  • 🕍 Synagogue inscription confirming a Jewish presence in Paul’s time
  • ⚖️ Bema (judgment seat) where Paul stood before Gallio, the Roman proconsul (Acts 18)
  • 🏛️ Temple of Apollo, Macellum (marketplace), Fountain of Peirene, and the Agora with ancient shops
  • 🎭 Theater with the Erastus inscription—Paul mentions Erastus in Romans 16:23

Your guide will bring the ancient ruins to life with context from Paul’s epistles.

🚢 Diolkos & Corinth’s Twin Seaports
Visit Diolkos, an ancient stone-paved road used to transport boats and cargo between the Corinthian and Saronic gulfs—an engineering marvel of its time.

Continue to Cenchrea, the eastern port of Corinth, where Paul set sail on his missionary journeys (Romans 16:1). Pass by Lechaion, Corinth’s western harbor, completing the picture of this once-bustling trade hub.

Stop briefly at the modern-day Corinth Canal, which today connects the two gulfs once divided by the isthmus—bringing ancient geography into modern perspective.

🌿 Olive Oil Tasting Experience
Enjoy a visit to a privately owned olive press, surrounded by peaceful olive groves. Tour the mill, learn about the traditional olive oil-making process, and savor fresh, extra-virgin olive oil—an authentic taste of Greece.

🏙️ Evening Arrival in Athens
Travel to Athens, check in at your hotel, and enjoy dinner on your own.

🛏️ Overnight Stay in Athens.

Day 9 – July 2: Athens – The Athenians

Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Biblical Truth

After breakfast, set out to explore Athens—the legendary birthplace of democracy, philosophy, and classical arts, and a pivotal city in both ancient and biblical history.

🏛️ Acropolis & Parthenon
Visit the iconic Acropolis and the majestic Parthenon, symbols of Greece’s Golden Age. Your host will share insights into this cultural high point and point out, based on historical context, Paul’s landing site and the probable site of the altar “To the Unknown God”.

📖 Mars Hill (Areopagus) & the Agora
Stand on Mars Hill (Areopagus)—where Paul boldly addressed the Council of Nobles and defended his faith before the supreme court of Athens (Acts 17). Then continue to the ancient Agora (marketplace), where Paul reasoned daily with philosophers and townspeople. Learn how Greek philosophy has influenced Western thought and even shaped some streams of modern Christian theology.

👨‍🍳 Greek Cooking Class & Lunch
Enjoy a hands-on Greek cooking experience with a professional chef. Learn how to prepare a simple, traditional Greek meal and savor the lunch you help create. (Included in your tour package.)

🌇 Evening Exploration & Cultural Experience
After some free time to explore Old Athens—including the charming neighborhoods of Plaka, Monastiraki, and Thissio—you’ll have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs and soak in the vibrant street life.
Later in the evening, transfer by bus to a local theater for an authentic live performance of traditional Greek folk dances. Watch dancers in handmade regional costumes perform centuries-old dances and songs from villages and islands across Greece.
